→ May to October
GILI ISLANDS
Best island hopping conditions
Calm seas and maximum visibility make dry season ideal for Gili boat trips and diving.
→ May to September
July and August are peak season and the most crowded months. If you want dry season conditions without the crowds, May, June, or September are the sweet spots.
April is one of the most underrated months on the island. Rainfall drops fast, the landscape is still lush from the
wet season, and prices haven't peaked yet.
October is the other hidden gem month. Most of the dry season quality remains, visitor numbers drop, and the island feels more like itself again.
During the wet season, rain usually comes in short heavy bursts rather than lasting all day. Mornings are often
clear, so it's worth planning activities early.
Water clarity changes dramatically between seasons. If snorkeling and diving are your priority, stick to May–September. The difference is significant.
